Castlegale Beagles is a small Canadian Kennel registerted with the Canadian Kennel Club. We are located in South Eastern Ontario, ten minutes south of the Ottawa International Airport and less than two hours from the Montreal International Airport.   My father, Donald G. Dowser, grew up five minutes walking distance from the Dowser farm. He was taught the importance of healthy breeding and care for animales. He became involved with animal competitions lke my grandfather, Lynn and my grandmother Shirley.   My mother, Kathy Dowser grew up in a small town house in the city with three older brothers and an older sister. They had a mutt, which happened to be a Beagle mix named Toto. Instead of learning about caring for animals Kathy learned to care for others, especially family.

When my parents married they had two pet Beagles from my grandparents. My dad wanted to start his own kennel but they didn't have the space. Eleven years ago they decided to start one. They had no idea on what to call it. My mom asked her sister for help because sh was very creative with words. My aunt asked for the intials of all the dogs we had at the time and the intials of my patnes, my sister and myself. She came up with Castlegale and this is what it means: C - Champ A - Ann S - Sally T - Tina L - Lynn E - Erica G - Glen A - Ann L - Lucky E - Erica   Our breeding program started with breed a Field beagle to a show beagle, (BIS Am/Can Ch Bayou Oaks English Leather). We are very careful when choosing who we breed to and what we are incorporating into our breeding lines. Every new generation we have has improved with temperment and looks. We are dedicated to producing healthy, well tempered and beautiful Beagles to pet and show owners.   Castlegale Beagles would like to thank Alyce Gilmore (Bayou Oaks Beagles), Colleen Tinlin (Briargate Beagles), Melissa Roubos (Show N Go Beagles), Phylis Wright, Bill Gear owner of our beloved BIS Am/Can CH Castlegales Eagle Had Landed, aka Eddie and especially Will Alexander for encouraging my sister and myself in the show ring as well as doing such a marvelous job with our Eddie.
